The Caledonian Canal in Scotland in June, July and August 2019
The Caledonian Canal Adventure has now begun!! Aries will be on this iconic waterway until the beginning of September. It was the result of a great deal of planning but worth every effort as the above ‘video/photos’ shows. The scenery is just stunning not only the countryside along the canal sections but especially Loch Oich.
It just has to be sailed to be believed!
Just 1 week remains available

Loch Lomond Boating Holidays has just announced that it is extending the period Aries,
a Linssen GS 36.9AC, will be on the Caledonian Canal.
Aries will now be on the Caledonian Canal from
1st June 2019 until 7th September 2019.
This will still provide only a limited opportunity to explore the beautiful Caledonian Canal and the 3 associated lochs that constitute this iconic waterway – Loch Ness, Loch Oich and Loch Lochy – whilst enjoying the unique luxury to be expected on board a Linssen motor cruiser.
The Canal offers a coast-to-coast link through the spectacular scenery of the Great Glen, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. It is a marvel of early 19th century civil engineering and is over 60 miles (96 kms) in length – longer than the Panama Canal! – of which 22 miles (35kms) is man-made with the remainder being formed by natural fresh water lochs.
Reservations are only available for a whole week charter
Reservations will be available from Saturday 1st June 2019 to Saturday 7th September 2019
Aries will be based at Dochgarroch Lock, 6 miles (10kms) from Inverness.
Dochgarroch Lock is the last lock on the Canal before entering Loch Ness.
The total navigable return distance is approximately 120 miles (200kms).
A return trip from Inverness to Banavie (near Fort William) would take approximately 5-6 days.
If a days’ break from cruising appeals, midway through your holiday, take a wonderful ½ day return excursion, by train, from Banavie railway station (10 min walk from the mooring), over the “Harry Potter” Viaduct and along the Atlantic Coast to the port of Mallaig (about 1½ hours).
£2,500 per week for 1st – 15th June
£2,950 per week for 15th June – 31st August
Rate includes the chargeable fees levied by Scottish Canals and cleaning.
Fuel will be chargeable.
